Pulsars & Fast Transients Firmware & Software Engineer

The Pulsars & Fast Transients Firmware & Software Engineer will work as part of the world-class team of researchers and software developers within the PSS team to develop firmware, software and algorithms for pulsar and fast transient research for the SKAO.

The post requires someone who has demonstrated experience with high-performance computing on high-specification hardware (including FPGAs) in a real-time computing environment.

Research Associate in Pulsar and Fast Transients Software Development and Research for the SKAO

The Pulsar, Exoplanet and Transients research group at JBCA is one of the largest pulsar research groups in the world and has an established track record of high-impact publications. You would be part of the team at the University of Manchester that is playing a leading role in the development of software and algorithms for pulsar and fast transient searches with the SKAO.

In this role, you will work 60% of your time as part of the world-class team of researchers and software developers within the PSS team, developing software and algorithms for pulsar and fast transient research for the SKAO. You will spend 40% of your time on research related to pulsar and fast transients’ searches with the SKAO.
