Career Development
At the SKAO your career will follow a framework that is designed to support your development through objective setting and reviews, and to show you the possible routes to progress in the future via a robust Career Framework.
Following a successful probationary period, you will have regular check-ins with your Line Manager to discuss progress with your defined set of objectives.
Our performance review cycle runs from January to December, but whenever you join during the year, you will have objectives to help guide your work and development. Your individual objectives will be aligned to the SKAO's corporate objectives, which are set at the beginning of every year. You will also agree on a development plan based on your job needs, skills, competencies and aspirations.
We have developed job level descriptors within our Career Framework which are designed to be used to support discussion with your Line Manager and align your development plans and long term career goals.
